Davion Thompson is the best sophomore in the State of Illinois. Thompson currently is ranked in the Top 25 Nationally however he may just be the best scoring guard in the Midwest for his class. Thompson scored 35 points in what felt like the most effortless 35 point outing we have seen from a guard this season. There is not much to say about Davion’s game as he left us speechless but what we will say is he has a natural feel to score the ball and create for others. His ability to use his body and wear out his defender is very similar to Jalen Brunson at Stevenson during his 2011-2015 era.
What we love about Davion is he hardly says a word during the game unless it is to communicate with his teammates. His focus and awareness throughout the game is on an elite level that most players don’t have at the sophomore stage of their career. Thompson’s aura is very inviting. Davion seems to have natural leadership characteristics where he doesn’t have to say much, he leads by example with his play.
Davion Thompson currently holds offers from University of Illinois, Tennessee & University of Michigan to name a few. Thompson currently plays for one of the State’s top ranked teams and has a great chance at a State Title this szn.
