VIDEO: NEPHEW OF NBA STAR FRED VANVLEET, AMIR DANFORTH SCORES RECORD BREAKING 42 POINTS.
Amir Danforth is one of the hottest rising prospects in Illinois. The class of 2026 point guard is averaging over 22 points per game this season. Recently Amir recorded 42 points, his second 40 point game in which he broke his schools record (44) with Rockford Auburn earlier this season. Amir’s 42 point game set the record at the Hinsdale Central Holiday Tournament in Hinsdale, Illinois.
Amir currently has only one Division I offer from Northern Illinois University. You can expect for Amir’s recruitment to pick up as he has been in contact with a couple high majors but major interest is coming from low major schools. Amir’s play has been consistent throughout this season. He has a very good shooting form and he heats up easily from the three point area.
Amir is playing like he could end up being a Top 5 prospect in the State for his class. With great certainty, Amir Danforth will play at the high major level at some point in his college career and has strong influence with Fred VanVleet being his uncle. VanVleet stars for the Houston Rockets and provides great value with his leadership and experience, 2022 NBA All-Star and 2019 NBA Champion. Amir credits VanVleet for taking him away from home to Los Angeles to workout with Jrue Holiday (Boston Celtics), Aaron Holiday (Houston Rockets), Jabari Smith (Houston Rockets) and more.
You can see exactly what type of player Amir is in his record breaking game against one of Chicago’s best Suburban team. Danforth led his team to the upset win without the second best scoring option on his team, Champ Parker who did not play. Watch the footage below!
