No matter the sport, it’s every coaches dream to have a player that plays for his team, that plays to win. Rykan Woo is nothing short of a high character, high value guard. Woo is currently a junior and is locked in on winning a State title with DePaul Prep.
Rykan only holds one Division I offer from California Davis. As we have stated in other evaluations, Illinois 2026 class is loaded with great high character guards that can just flat out play basketball. You can take Rykan Woo anywhere, Chicago, New York, DMV, you name it, and he will bring a winner’s aura no matter who, what, when or where.
Let’s dive into Woo’s evaluation. Rykan is a jack of all trades at the guard spot. He can shoot the ball, he can be a floor general, he can be a defensive specialist, he can even rebound the ball if needed. The fact that he plays to win, it is very hard to find flaws in his game. Of course, you can say maybe his speed and athleticism, but effort kills those attributes every time. With Rykan you are getting his best effort every time, that’s both on and off the court. Woo holds a 5.0 grade point average and is apart of the National Honors Society.
