VIDEO: NASIR RANKIN, ILLINOIS MOST PROMISING DUAL-SPORT ATHLETE.

If you have been tuned in with us lately you may be aware that we have been releasing videos on the Most Overlooked Prospects in Illinois by Top Floor Lobby. Nasir Rankin a 6’1 combo guard in the 2026 class is amongst the most overlooked in the State. Rankin currently holds Division I offers from Eastern Illinois, Northern Illinois + Grambling State for basketball.

Many have heard of Nasir previously but not for basketball, Rankin is one of the Nation’s top recruits and is currently being recruited by almost every Top Power 5 school in the country. USC, Oregon, Illinois, Missouri & many more have been tracking Rankin heavily on the recruitment trail for football. This past season Nasir posted a 54-point game against Harlan. We came close to attending the game however Nasir’s matchup was on the same day of the Simeon and Kenwood matchup.

Rankin has a very broad frame and is very quick and agile, he’s able to split the defense with his speed and agility. Not only is Nasir’s speed a strength but also his ability to hit the mid-range jumper consistently. Rankin would be a great scoring guard on the low major Division I level and if he is able to define playing with pace on the basketball court, he could end up being quite the prize. Nasir could also become a better threat from behind the perimeter as it would only make him a tougher guard due to his ability to attack the lane and finish strong at the basket.

If Nasir does decide to go the basketball route do not be surprised if you hear him name around this time of the year, March Madness, sometime during his college career. Whether it’s football or basketball, the keys are in Nasir’s hand to sustaining a great career and a very bright future.

We were able to get footage on Nasir however, you can watch Nasir’s latest video from earlier on during this past high school season on our YouTube Channel, Top Floor Lobby.
