Love us or hate us but let’s set the record straight. TJ Seals is the most disrespected prospect in the entire state of Illinois. Seals continues to prove why he is the one every Division I college is struggling to find. Seals is that 2025 prospect that can come right in and make a difference (low major) and with the right guidance, Seals can blossom into a 2nd year impact player (low mid-major level).
Seals is the star player for Kenwood Academy, a top 15 team in the nation! Let’s cut all the talk about the hype and who has the best offers. This has nothing to do with singling anyone out, but it has more to do with giving the young man his respect. The star player is not the player who always scores the most points. In our eyes the star player is the player you can consistently count on down the stretch or what many refer to as “in the clutch”.
Seals is great at making plays for the offense through defense and he is also great at owning the moment. He’s always in the right place at the right time and puts the ball in the basket every single time his number is called upon. Strengths in TJ’s game would be his ability to use his length and rebound the ball, many may say his ability to stretch the floor is his biggest asset, but we disagree. TJ Seals is great at using his length to rebound the ball, rebounding is his biggest asset in our eyes. TJ is also great at causing havoc on the defensive end by making players give up the ball when he is guarding them or making it extremely hard for them to score on him. If you get 15+ points on Seals you may be playing one of your best games of the season.
Seals rebounding and defense is Division I level standing at 6 foot 5 while closing in on 6 foot 6. While mentioning his size, TJ Seals is an above par three-point shooter. Seals can stretch the floor with his perimeter shooting. This young man is just flat out tough, he plays as if he lives for big moments, and big games. TJ Seals is a BIG TIME PLAYER!!! You can watch footage of TJ Seals when he matched up against Chicago Simeon in December of this season in which he posted 24 points and 12 rebounds, 9 of those rebounds came at halftime.
As for last night, Kenwood faced Simeon once again in the Round of 32 4A Playoffs in which Kenwood trailed by as much as 17 points and rallied to come back in a team effort. Seals made the game tying basket to force overtime in which Kenwood ended up winning by two points. TJ Seals posted 12 points and 10 rebounds, his strongest offer at the moment is Division II Clark Atlanta. Footage of Round 1 vs. Chicago Simeon below, credit Top Floor Lobby.
